Emmanuel Jiménez is a multiple-time national champion of Costa Rica and an International Master (FIDE, 2020). He has represented his country at the Chess Olympiads in Batumi 2018 and Budapest 2024, and is among the highest-rated players in Costa Rica.
In June 2026 he secured his third and final Grandmaster norm at the 19th American Continental Championship.
It was a Sicilian, and neither side held anything back — attack against attack from the opening moves. On the Community Board the players voted every move with a show of hands, the game grew tenser as it went — and they won it.
